The Wild Horse Identification Management System (WHIMS) consists of a Microsoft Access application database, a wild horse identification database, and a collection of photoCDs and JPG images. The current version includes two wild horse identification databases--the Pryor Mountain, MT and Little Book Cliffs, CO populations. There is a collection of slides stored digitally on PhotoCDs for each wild horse population. The WHIMS application models the identification and population attributes describing field observation and photography of the individual horses and their populations. WHIMS data and products are archived on CD-ROM using the Microsoft Windows Joilet format. The CD-ROM also includes an Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) Open File Report containing directions and protocols for using and maintaining new and existing wild horse identification databases.
