The DATE command writes the current date to the screen and current output file if it exists. It is useful for dating results and can be used to time procedures if issued before and after a statistical command. The command line syntax for the DATE command is simply:
DATE
For example, the command:
>DATE
immediately writes the current date and time to the screen and output file.
